A Girl and A Camera · San Francisco
Hello, I am Jennifer
I have always been a photographer. My dad handed me a camera before I was old enough to understand what it did, and I have been looking at the world through a viewfinder ever since.
How I work
Over fifteen years and more than 350 weddings, I have learned that the pictures worth keeping are almost never the ones anybody posed for. The high five. The hug that goes on a little too long. The happy tears nobody saw coming. My whole job is knowing those are about to happen and being in the right place when they do.
Life is not tidy or flawless, and I think that is where the beauty of it lives. So I am not going to spend your day arranging you. I would rather you forget I am there, and I would rather you look back at these pictures and remember how the day actually felt. How you feel matters at least as much as how you look.
Every image that reaches you is hand-crafted from start to finish. Nothing is batched out to an editing house, which is slower and entirely the point. Couples have been kind enough to vote me a Knot Best of Weddings photographer eight years running, and the work has found its way into Style Me Pretty, Rock N Roll Bride, Wedding Chicks and 7x7.
Away from a wedding you will find me out running or lifting, which turns out to be excellent training, because a wedding day is an endurance sport. The rest of my time belongs to Ollie, my rescue dog. And yes, I cry at weddings. Most of them.
I am based in San Francisco and shoot all over the Bay Area, from City Hall to Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Carmel and Big Sur. I am also very happy to get on a plane, and weddings have taken me as far as Ireland.
